Broadband Stimulus Information

American Recovery and Reinvestment Act

In response to the Broadband NOFA of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act released on July 14, 2009, Connect Arkansas (Connect) has submitted three applications (Arkansas State Broadband Data and Delivery Program, Expanding Broadband Use in Arkansas–Sustainable Adoption, Expanding Broadband Use in Arkansas–Public Computer Access) to implement a collaborative effort with the goal of dramatically increasing citizen use of broadband internet. The proposal entitled "Connect Arkansas: Expanding Broadband Use in Arkansas" is currently under review by the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA). At this time, a decision is anticipated, at the latest, by December 2009.

Connect Arkansas's Role

Connect Arkansas is the Statewide Designated Entity for Mapping and is also working in conjunction with the Office of Governor Beebe to provider coordination and assistance for the Broadband Stimulus Application for Arkansas.
